Could I talk to you guys a bit on something that has been stopping me to begin, do and continue another thing lately? It’s my fear of my own webcomic.

Nowadays I have been avoiding it because I don’t feel up-to-par with the standards I have set for myself and the potential of this project. I…

Man, I’ve started and stopped so many comics it’s embarrassing. First off, I’ve wasted a lot of time waiting for my skill to reach a level I’m happy with before starting something. For me at least, it’s never happened. You just have to take the plunge and try to swim.

My advice for the workload would be to avoid committing to something huge right out of the gate, it’s a good way to psyche yourself out. If you’re really attached to the characters and the world, maybe commit to it a chapter at a time, keeping them fairly short.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to make mistakes! Because you totally will! Everyone does. But the good thing about that is you’ll learn a whole lot from them. I can’t think of a webcomic I like off the top of my head where their recent stuff isn’t much better than their early stuff. The easiest way to get a lot better at drawing comics is to draw a lot of comics, so you’re going to get better as time goes on.

I hope this helps you out somewhat!
